Minecraft’s oceans are getting their biggest update ever. The Update Aquatic was announced at Minecon Earth, and is an overhaul of the entirety of the game’s sea life, arriving in Spring 2018.
The Update Aquatic will introduce a shipload of new features, from new fish, to explorable shipwrecks, treasure-hunting and dolphins. Of course, the oceans are also home to many of nature’s most terrifying creations, and as such you’ll need something to defend yourself with when you go exploring. As a result, The Update Aquatic is introducing a new weapon in the form of the trident, which can be upgraded to return to you automatically. Although minimal updates to "GTA 5" are on the rise, the sixth installment of the game remains elusive.
One of the famous theories about the video game is the possibility of having a female protagonist. Gamers are hoping that a female character will be added to the forthcoming "GTA 6" game. Fans think that this would take a new direction for the game and it would be something fresh for the hardcore followers.
Fans anticipate that if a female protagonist is added to the gameplay, she should be the type who downs bottles of beer, burps, cusses, and can even fix her own car. She should look dangerous, violent and explosive as well. This way, her badass character can stand out in a game that is dominated by men. However, despite the repeated demands, Rock Star Games has not made any announcement that they are agreeing to the request.
Aside from this, "Grand Theft Auto 6" fans are also looking forward to a Tokyo map. Although the game usually used a known territory like a fictional place in the United States, there is a possibility that it will expand its map. This could mean that a Tokyo map is possible in the upcoming release.
Until now, thereis no confirmation of the release date for the "GTA 6." Many believe that it will be out by 2018 since there is usually a five-year gap between the game's releases. It may be recalled that "GTA 5" was released in 2013; there is a possibility that the next game might come out in 2018.
With the release of another popular Rockstar game, "Red Dead Redemption 2," production of "GTA 6" could be delayed. The developer is currently occupied finishing the former and it could push back the release of "GTA 6" in 2020.
Bombsite A in Counter-Strike: GO’s new Dust 2 Valve
One of Counter-Strike’s most popular classic maps, Dust 2, just got an overhaul in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Valve explained the changes to the map, which include a substantial visual upgrade, on the game’s website.
Valve said that with the new version of CS:GO’s Dust 2 “we wanted to honor its pure form while buffing away the jagged edges.” The update aims to improve player readability, “refine movement around the world” and modernize the map’s visuals.
“We set out to refine it further rather than performing a wholesale redesign,” the company said.
Some of the most obvious visual changes to Dust 2 come in the form of lighting. The map is lighter and brighter throughout, and Valve has removed a series of dark spots where players could camp. Valve has also adjust some of the map’s geometry, removing or relocating objects that could obscure line of sight or interrupt movement.
Here’s what Valve said about one change to bomb site A, where the broken-down cars in that area have been merged into one.
“Experienced players will now not have to worry about whether they’re going to get hung up and newbs won’t wonder if they’re going to get burned,” Valve explained. “Annoying physics based detritus props have also been replaced with more predictable static prop detail such as weeds and rocks.”
Dust 2’s update also comes with updates to player models. The Leet Krew terrorists have been overhauled to match the map’s visual upgrade. Valve has a bunch of screenshots highlighting the changes to Dust 2 and the new terrorist models.
Despite announcing that patches for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds would be rolled out less frequently going forward, the next update for the immensely popular battle royale game is just around the corner. On Twitter today, developer Bluehole revealed that it will be deploying the game's latest update next week.
While Bluehole didn't divulge many details about the update, it did give fans a taste of what it will include. In a follow up tweet, the developer said, "Some of the key features of the new build include a new weapon, foggy weather condition, FPP leaderboards, and multiple bug fixes." Bluehole also said that test servers "will be up for at least two days early next week."
Among the other pieces of content still on the way to Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is its desert maps. While Bluehole has shared few details about the level--and it still apperas to be far off from release, we recently learned that it won't be smaller than th game's first map, like the developer initially planned.
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds launched in Early Access this year and has been extraordinarily successful, recently surpassing 10 million copies sold on PC, Despite its massive success, creator Brendan Greene said there are no plans to raise the game;s price when it leaves Early Access and officially launches. An Xbox One version, which is being published by Microsoft, is slated to arrive in the Game Preview program later this year, but it may not be exclusive to the console permanently.

terms of total internet usage across desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile combined. The independent web analytics company
said that in February this year Android came within striking distance of taking
the top spot from Microsoft. In fact, whilst Windows remained the most
popular OS last month, with a 38.6% share of the market, Android was just over
one per cent behind with 37.4%. “The idea of Android almost matching
Windows would have been unthinkable five years ago,” commented Aodhan Cullen,
CEO, StatCounter. “In January 2012 Windows held 82% global
internet usage share compared to just 2.2% for Android.” He said that the development was a
function of the growth of smartphones to access the internet as well as a
slowdown in sales of traditional PCs plus the impact of Asia on the global
market. Windows still dominates the PC and laptop
market with an 84.1% internet usage share in February but the battlefield has
moved on. StatCounter recently reported that in
October 2016 internet usage by mobile and tablet devices exceeded desktop and
laptop worldwide for the first time. In North America Windows (all versions)
maintained its lead across all platforms with 40.7% share in February followed
by iOS (24.9%) and Android (20.3%). It’s a similar story in Europe where
Windows (51.8%) is more than twice the level of Android (23.5%). However, in
Asia, Android is now over 50% (51.8%) compared to 29.8% for Windows. “Windows 10 will need to maintain
momentum in order to combat the steady march of Android across all markets,”

Previous reports had claimed that the update, codenamed Redstone 3, was set to
launch around August, marking two years after the official release of Windows

More information about the new update is expected to be revealed at Microsoft’s
Build conference in May, but some features for the new software have already
been teased.
Top of the list is apparently an all-new design for Windows 10, with the update
bringing a fresh look for the software.
Codenamed ‘Project Neon’, the new-look Windows
10 appears to bring in a number of stylistic improvements, including boosted
animations and blue to apps.
Microsoft has already made the new tools available to developers, as part of
its aims to help teams build new and ‘beautiful apps’.
Project Neon is also set to bring a number of improvements to Windows 10’s 3D
functions, and the link between the software and its HoloLens headset.
Google is also expected to unveil its new Android OS in May with it expected to
be called Oreo.
Android 8.0 will be shown off at Google I/O in with several exciting new
features and tools expected to be included.
These include something called Copy Less, which looks to make it easier to send
information via text, as it will give your device the ability to automatically
detect the relevant information you would want to copy from a source when
you’re sending a text or an email.
Also set to be included is another key time-saving feature that looks to have
been borrowed straight from Apple’s iOS.
Now, tapping on an address in a message will open up the location on Google
Maps, cutting out the need to copy and paste details from one app into another.
Lastly, Android O could also include drawable gesture for the first time - so
drawing a letter on your display would bring up applicable contacts or apps.
The new Minecraft 1.12 update just came out on 31 April 2017. Minecraft is stepping up their game and add new things on the game.

Valve certainly aren't ones for giving us a bit of warning when they are about to drop a major update. With little more than blog post as the patch went live, Lord Gaben and his droogs decided to drop an entire new map into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive a few weeks back.
Canals is the first new Valve created map since Overpass, which launched way back in December 2013, and it has caused quite the stir in the CS:GO world. The map itself is set in what Valve refers to as an “Italian City”, however it is pretty clear to everyone that the Italian city it is based on is Venice, thanks to the canals and Renaissance architecture that bears more than a few similarities to the big landmarks of the city. As you might expect there is a central waterway that runs through the middle of the map, with the B bomb site situated on a walkway over it. Elsewhere, the A site is one of the most exposed in the game, with a ton of wide open space and one of the most overpowered windows we have ever seen in CS.
With a few weeks to play around in Canals, almost everyone has figured out their favourite ways of playing. Pro players have slowly drifted back to playing the active duty maps, while those of us who can only dream of playing on the main stage at a Major are still toiling away trying to perfect those AWP angles and smoke throws. While there is still a lot to learn about the map, there is already a lot that we can decipher after a few weeks. Let’s take a deep dive, if you’ll excuse the water pun.
B site is perfect for bomb to bouncing
The B bomb site is on a first floor walkway over the canal itself. The walkway has four windows and has very thin walls, meaning that wallbangs are certainly a possibility. Even in our own play, we’ve had success planting in the middle of B, and then running to the back of the canal, watching the walkway where the site is and taking a few pot shots through the walls whenever we see some movement. Providing they don't have a kit you should have ample time to take them out before they get the diffuse, and add another clip to the highlight reel.
The site itself is also quite enclosed, and providing you have a couple of players for support there’s no reason why you couldn’t hold off a group of five uncoordinated opponents. Issues start to arise when you aren't sure which side the opponents are coming from, but then that is the case for almost every site.
The A side need some work perhaps the area of the map that has caused the most arguments among CS players has been the A bomb site. Whereas almost every other site in CS:GO has a lot of cover, and multiple angles of attack, the A site of Canals is really quite open, with little to hide behind. The site is situated in a small doorway area that is raised from street level – there are small areas of cover inside the site, but you can still easily be hit with wall bangs.
If everything you are about to read is right, you better get a better internet connection if you want to play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with any sort of normalcy.
A YouTube video produced by Dinowarleaf, titled “Major Issue – CS:GO Hitboxes Are Still Off” has taken Valve to task over one very import caveat about the game. Where you aim isn’t what you are going to hit.
Dinowarleaf, Dino for short, walks you through a very logical and clean explanation of what is happening. And now it’s time for you to be in the know.
The contention is that there is a difference between the hitboxes you see and the ones the server sees.
In case you didn’t know, hitboxes are supposed to reside inside the graphical representation of the target you see.
However, it appears that in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, sometimes these hitboxes have out of body experiences.
Example: In the picture below you think that in order to hit the target, you shoot at the graphical representation of the model.
However, the server sees the blue outline as the target. This means even if you aim was true in terms of hitting the graphical representation, you would have missed in some instances.
Dino walks you through everything step by step, from creating a custom map to creating a custom gun, so that everything you see can be recreated.
Basically, Dino created a lazer gun and could literally trace the hitbox image by shooting at an increased rate of fire with 100 percent accuracy using the weapon_accuracy_nospread console command and removing recoil.
One of the most egregious errors he found was that hitboxes were significantly worse when shooting at a jumping target as seen below.
So even if you managed to land a headshot, sometimes it would be a complete miss or a shot to the chest.

The Ryzen leak prime time is here. Performance testing of the final Ryzen 7 1700X CPU from AMD has leaked out from Xfastest.com (the article is now hidden behind a password) and features AMD’s upcoming x86 offering in all its glory. The 1700X (which is not the flagship by the way) can be seen going toe to toe with Intel’s $1000 Core i7-5960X, and even the Core i7 6900K in some cases. Without any further ado, lets dig in:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Cinebench, 3DMark Physics and CPU Mark benchmarks leaked, goes toe to toe with Intel’s $1000 Core i7 6900k
The first benchmark that we have is trusty Cinebench R15, which along with 3DMark can be considered the bread and butter of PC performance testing. This is not a custom load like the blender test, but the standard load of the benchmark and features the Ryzen 7 1700X CPU running at 3.5 GHz (it is not clear whether XFR is running at this point or not but from the results I would hazard a guess that it is):
The performance of the Ryzen 7 1700X is pretty damn impressive in almost every factor. According to past leaks, you are looking at a pre-order pricing level of $389 and this is very clear, $1000 Intel processor level performance. To give you some context:
The Core i7 5960X scores around 1318 cb
The Core i7 6900k scores around 1565 cb
The Ryzen 7 1700X scores around 1527 cb
Further up we have the FireStrike Physics score. This is the score that would be really relevant for most gamers since even though this is a synthetic benchmark, it usually gives a fairly good estimate of the computational power harvest-able by a gaming application. XFR will help out a lot in this side of things, and some games might actually fare better with hyper threading disabled (since most games are unoptimized and benefit primarily from the clock speed of the first few threads). Keep in mind however, that Ryzen processors will probably need a much more robust system as compared to Intel counterparts considering their Tcase is substantially lower.
The Ryzen 7 1700X scores almost 18,000 points – which is a very huge number when it comes to Firestrike Physics score. It basically means that game developers will have access to an obscene pool of processing power that is going to be within reach of the mainstream very soon. This level of performance had previously only been seen with the likes of Intel’s HEDT segment which had combined costs upwards of the $1000 mark. With the Ryzen 7 1700X, gamers can now get similar performance for less than half the cost! Once again, to give some further context:
The Core i7 5960X scores around 14,640 points
The Core i7 6900k scores around 17,100 points
The Ryzen 7 1700X scores around 17,916 pints
Here is the lineup of Ryzen processors, where each SKU is systematically and copletly outshining the competition at any given price point. Some of you might recall the editorial I published last weak, calling on Intel to make a move since AMD has clearly called check. This leak just goes on to further prove the point that Intel’s monopoly is technically over. AMD finally has a competitive x86 uArch and armed with the amended WSA it will give the blue giant a hell of a fight – one that could easily cripple the blue chip maker if it is not careful. With Intel’s price/performance points blown utterly out of the water, it must respond with appropriate price cuts – or see its market share shrink rapidly.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players may have found their lobbies invaded by unkickable chat bots over the weekend, thanks to a newly-discovered exploit.
The exploit enables accounts to join any lobby - even private ones - and prevents them from being kicked.
In a Reddit thread discussing the issue, it seems the leading user of this exploit is - somewhat ironically - making use of it to complain about security issues in CS:GO. In the messages he forces on the rest of the community, he tries to organise a one-day boycott of the game in protest at its “hackers and bugs”, complaining that Valve are more interested in making money from skins and cases than they are in fixing these problems.
Valve have responded to that thread, saying they “have deployed a temporary solution to help mitigate the exploit” and that they “will continue working on it throughout next week”.
The processor tested was a Ryzen 5 1600X processor which we detailed in our full lineup article here. The Ryzen 5 1600X processor is a 6 core and 12 thread chip. It is also the fastest 6 core chip in the AMD Ryzen family that launches in a few weeks. The processor comes at clock speeds of 3.3 GHz base and 3.7 GHz boost. The chip comes with 16 MB of L3 cache and 3 MB of L2 cache. The chip featured a bus speed of 100 MHz and a multiplier of x34 to achieve its base clocks.
We can note that this chip is codenamed “Summit Ridge” which is the official branding of all Zen based desktop processors. Ryzen is the codename of the CPU family itself. The chip was operating at a voltage of 0.374V under nominal loads. The Zen architecture is based on a 14nm process which brings it on par with Intel’s modern processors.
The performance of the chip was tested in CPU-z with the in-built bench utility. This utility helps evaluate the single and multi-threaded performance of the processor running on the PC. The Ryzen 5 1600X had a score of 1888 in single-threaded performance bench and 12544 points in multi-threaded performance bench. In the task manager, we can see that the chip has boost clock enabled since it is clocking beyond it’s base frequency (e.g. 3.56 GHz).
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Vs Core i5-7600K Processor Performance Comparison
For comparison purposes, we used a Core i5-7600K running in our test rig and loaded the same CPU-z version (v1.78.1 x64). The quad core (non hyper-threaded) chip achieved a score of 2130 in single-threaded and 8206 in multi-threaded.We can note here that the Zen processor has lower single-threaded performance than the Kaby Lake chip which is clocked at a higher frequency of 3.8 GHz. The AMD rig was using 16 GB of DDR4 memory like our test rig but we don’t know the exact clock speeds. Our test rig was running DDR4 ram clocked at 3600 MHz. Another thing to note is that this result is not indicative of final performance but we can note that AMD has managed to bring IPC close to Intel Haswell and Skylake parts which will be very interesting to see in other benchmarks.This is not a conclusive result but the multi-threaded performance is really good for the AMD part. This chip is expected to retail at $259 US which is $17 more than the $242 asking price of the Intel part. So we can expect a good competition between these two parts.The second processor that is being tested by the leaker is the AMD Ryzen 3 1300 quad core chip that comes with SMT enabled, hence it comes with 8 threads. This chip has the “ZD3201BBM4KF4_34/32_Y” codename. It comes with 8 MB of L3 cache and 2 MB of L2 cache. The clock speeds are maintained at 3.2 GHz base and 3.4 GHz boost.
AMD Ryzen 7 Series CPUs – Flagship AMD 7 1800X With 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 4 GHz Boost Clocks
The AMD Ryzen 7 range will feature the fastest “X” variant in the lineup. This processor will be known as the AMD 7 1800X and will feature 8 cores and 16 threads. This model is expected to operate at base clocks of 3.6 GHz and boost clocks of 4.0 GHz. The performance of this processor should be on par with Intel’s Core i7 6900K. Other details include an L2 + L3 cache of 20 MB (4 MB + 16 MB) and a TDP of 95W. The chip will have enthusiast level pricing so expect something around $499.The rest of the processors in the Ryzen 7 family are also 8 core and 16 threaded variants. The Ryzen 3 series are the only models that don’t feature SMT support and will be the entry level models which will be designed to compete against the Intel Core i3 and Pentium series processors. The fastest model in the lineup will be the AMD Ryzen 3 1200X which will feature 4 cores, 4 threads and a base clock of 3.4 GHz which may boost to 3.8 GHz.
The rest of the lineup includes the AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 1200, AMD Ryzen 3 1100 and the Ryzen 3 PRO 1100. The frequencies of the Ryzen 3 series lineup will range between 3.1 GHz and 3.4 GHz (boost clocks). TDPs for these chips will be set at 65W.
For the past few years Intel has been unable to stick to its tick-tock cadence for changes to its micro architecture and 2017 will mark yet another year where the semiconductor giant has been unable to stick on to Moore’s Law.
The new 8th generation processors will use the same architecture as its predecessors, with s improvements across the board. Intel calls the refinement a 14nm++ process.
A tweet by analyst Ashraf Eassa also confirms the same stating that the 8th generation Intel Core processors will continue to follow the 14nm process.
This definitely feels like a bummer, considering that AMD is all set to create chaos with its Ryzen CPU line-up as per multiple leaks and rumours. It can be argued that in terms of micro architecture, it’ll be after a really long time, that Intel will actually face stiff competition from AMD. And even with that in mind, it doesn’t plan on doing something revolutionary and stick to minimal performance improvements.
However, one must also take into consideration that when a node shrinks it become more difficult for a semiconductor company to make it shrink further and it also struggles to eek out maximum performance.
That’s why it seems Intel is refining the 14nm process for better efficiency. Intel’s lead in processor fabrication technology has led it to argue that its 14nm chips are better than 10nm chips from rival chipset makers.
Regardless, the 8th generation Core processors are expected to feature a 15 percent performance increase over the Kaby Lake. This was also the case with Skylake and Kaby Lake.
Also, this doesn’t mean Intel isn’t going to come with a 10nm processor. It is still working on it, and it’s expected to power sleek portable convertibles and Ultrabooks which need great performance with refined power consumption and less heat dissipation.
More than that, with the dwindling sales of PCs, Intel’s focus has shifted towards data centres and its Xeon line of processors which power servers in data centres. It is said that Intel will first unleash its 10nm chipsets for data centres.
Intel’s latest and definitively greatest Xeon processor, the E7-8894 v4, has an MSRP of $8,898. There are other specs I can (and will) tell you about this, but really, that’s the most important one: $8,898.
Now, to be clear, this is a professional-grade piece of hardware that’s really only meant for companies running servers with big databases. Sure, it’s set a whole bunch of benchmarking records, but it’s not really the kind of chip you’d use to play Overwatch. I’m not even sure you could use this to play Overwatch.
Anyway, specs. So, what does your $8,898 investment get you? A 24 core processor with 60MB of cache that runs at 2.4GHz, with a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz. That makes it pretty similar to Intel’s previous E7-8890 v4 Xeon chip, which has a recommended price of $7,174 (a comparative bargin, I tell you!), but it only runs at a base speed of 2.2GHz. Whether the extra speed boost is worth the $1,716 dollars is entirely up to you.
Intel also makes a few other less powerful and cheaper Xeon processors in the E7-8800 line, but the E7-8894 v4 is the best of the bunch. And really, doesn’t your hypothetical industrial-grade server which you will probably never own or interact with deserve the best?
You should download the Windows 10 Anniversary Update before June
If you’re one of the rare few that has installed Windows 10 and somehow managed to avoid the the big Anniversary Update of last year, then your security is on a timer. Microsoft just announced that it will drop service support for the first version of its new operating system (OS) in May.
Once slated for March 2017 (yikes!), the firm made the push-back public recently, through its TechNet blog speaking to IT professionals.
“With the availability of Windows 10, version 1607 to the VLSC on January 26th, the grace period for Windows 10, version 1507 will begin,” Microsoft’s Nathan Mercer writes. “That means, after May 2017, Windows 10, version 1507 will no longer be serviced as only the two most Current Branch for Business (CBB) versions are actively serviced.”
Windows 10 was practically designed for Microsoft's Surface Studio
Windows 10 version 1507 is the technical name for the first release of Windows 10 back in July 2015, while the 1607 version number refers to the Anniversary Update of August last year. The latter is the most current version of the OS, though it has been patched several times since.
Eagle-eyed readers will notice a distinction between the Current Branch for Business (CBB, or business) and the Current Branch (CB, or consumer) versions of Windows 10.
When asked in the comments of the TechNet article whether all versions of Windows 10 version 1507 will be dropped from service, Mercer clarified simply with, “after May 2017 CB/CBB v1507 will receive no more updates.”
So, yes, all service support for the original release of Windows 10 will be dropped this June. This won’t mean much for the lot of you that actually update your PC.
But, for those that, for whatever reason, have somehow avoided downloading the Anniversary Update, your device will be at risk come June 2017.
Security concerns aside, consider this interesting nugget: all of this is due to the fact that Microsoft has a policy that it will only support the two most recent major versions of Windows 10 at a time. If it’s dropping support of one version after May 2017, it will surely pick up support of another – like the forthcoming Creators Update?
While we can’t say with 100% confidence whether this indicates a May release window for the next massive Windows 10 update, it sure does sound likely with this new information.

This is a big list and the culmination of a lot of work, so let’s look in detail at each of these in turn.
NSA adds Windows 10 and Surface to list for classified use
Our customers are the most security-conscious in the world and demonstrating our commitment to meeting their needs is incredibly important to us. Today, I’m excited to share that both Windows 10 and Surface devices including Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book have been added to the NSA’s Commercial Solutions for Classified Programs (CSfC) list. The CSfC program listing demonstrates Windows 10, as well as Surface devices (the only Windows 10 devices currently on the list), when used in a layered solution, can meet the highest security requirements for use in classified environments.
Enhanced security capabilities with Surface Enterprise Management Mode
Many of our Surface customers in heavily-regulated industries have told us they value the many layers of security built into Windows 10, but also need to deploy additional protections at the hardware layer, such as being able to disable the camera or turn off the microphone to use a device within classified areas or on the manufacturing floor. Today, I’m excited to announce we’ve added a layer of hardware security functionality called Surface Enterprise Management Mode (SEMM) and it can be deployed on any Surface Pro 4, Surface Book and Surface Studio.
SEMM allows an organization to take ownership, modify, lock down, and otherwise control hardware configuration, security, and OS behaviors within the device firmware. Hardware configuration rules can be applied to Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth, Ethernet, time of day, application access and certificates that can be included in initial deployments or dynamically pushed via the cloud.
SEMM is easy to use and allows IT managers to deploy their Surface devices in custom configurations to help protect against evolving attacks. SEMM also requires both physical possession of the device and unique certificate signatures to make any changes, helping to prevent modifications in the event of device loss or theft and providing additional security authentication beyond simply trusting local administrator or BIOS passwords. Customers in the intelligence, financial services and healthcare industries are already using SEMM now. Here’s an example of how it works:
Extending device management in Windows 10
We’re bringing many of the security settings and configurations found in the Security Baseline Policies, previously only available through Group Policy, to MDM solutions with the Creators Update. Also, to help analyze and report on the Group Policy settings configured within your organization and list those supported by MDM, we’ve shipped the MDM Migration Analytics Tool (MMAT) allowing simple symmetric policy configuration for your Windows 10 MDM managed devices.
New enhancements to Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (WDATP)
Since its release with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (WDATP) continues to prove its value in detecting high-profile security cases such as zero-day attacks, ransomware and other advanced attacks as published by our research team. With the Creators Update, we are enabling customers to add customized detection rules and providing the ability to perform ‘time travel’ detections running every new detection added across six months of historical data. This helps customers uncover past unnoticed attacks. These insights and more, available through WDATP, have contributed to the incredible growth in active WDATP customers and pilots – now protecting nearly 1.5 million devices in just over six months.
We’ve heard feedback that in addition to integration of Office ATP and WDATP insights, customers want to view malware reports and other security events in a single place. Therefore, we are now integrating security events and alerts from across the Windows security stack, starting with Windows Defender Antivirus. As we look forward into the roadmap, we’re planning to introduce WDATP support for additional platforms starting with Windows Server.
We are also pleased to share that through continued investments in our Windows Defender Antivirus offering, our test results continue to be among the top of security industry leaders. AV-TEST, a recognized independent malware protection testing firm noted in their Nov-Dec/2016 Product Review and Certification Report that our antivirus for enterprises, System Center Endpoint Protection, received high marks with 100% on zero day, web and email based threat testing and 98.6% on malware and prevalent malware testing.
The quest for No More Passwords with Windows Hello
Windows Hello is designed to eliminate the use of passwords, which remains one of the biggest security risks our customers face today. By using Azure Active Directory and hybrid environments with Azure Active Directory Connect, many of our customers have been able to use Windows Hello in their environments through the cloud. Now with the Creators Update, all organizations, particularly those in public sector, with on premise Active Directory-only environments will be able to use Windows Hello.
We are also adding Dynamic Lock to Windows Hello to automatically lock a device when the customer is no longer within proximity. Using Bluetooth signals, proximity will be based on distance between a customer’s mobile phone and the Windows 10 device and can be defined in Settings or though policy. Dynamic Lock can provide an additional layer of protection to help prevent unauthorized access to an unlocked, unattended device.
Through our co-engineering work with Intel as part of Project EVO, Windows Hello will be integrated within Intel’s Authenticate technology. This integration enables Windows Hello to take full advantage of Authenticate’s hardware-based authentication factors to help protect them from even the most advanced attacks. Together with Intel, we expect to deliver Windows devices with this integration capability by the end of 2017.
Turbo-charging your deployments with Windows Analytics
To help customers gain deep insights into the operational efficiency, health, and security of their Windows 10 devices, we have expanded our a suite of cloud-powered Windows Analytics solutions. In addition to upgrade and compatibility readiness, Windows Analytics will now include Update Compliance – free insights available in public preview starting today that provide a holistic view of Windows 10 update compliance for both monthly quality updates and new feature updates. This free resource will help organizations monitor deployment progress, identify issues and provide insights about their fully-patched, secure Windows 10 device environment.
Windows 10 is the most secure version of Windows ever and these new additions, along with our focus on simplifying modern IT and enabling amazing experiences and devices powered by Windows 10, continue to drive deployments with customers like the US Department of Defense, Australian Department of Human Services, Kimberly-Clark, Hendrick Motorsports, Crystal Group and Aiken County Public School District, and many others.

Intel Pentium G4560 Review
The Intel Pentium G4560 is part of the Kaby Lake family of processors which were launched at CES 2017. The lineup includes several Pentium and Core series processors. The Pentium G4560 is a $64 US processor which is placed in the lineup and may not look like much until we get into the specifications of this part.
The Pentium G4560 is a dual core processor that comes with Hyper-Threading Technology. It has four threads and this is the first time Intel has enabled the technology on Pentium series processors. The CPU comes with clock speeds of 3.50 GHz base frequency but no boost clocks. The chip stores a 3 MB L3 cache and has a TDP of 54W. The processor also packs the latest HD Graphics 610 clocked at 1150 MHz. The chip has a price of 64 USD which is really good.
The full performance review of the Pentium G4560 is published by ComputerBase. Their performance tests are surprising as the $64 US chip is able to not only outperform a 6 core AMD FX-6300 processor but also manages to be on par with the higher priced Core i3-6100 Skylake ($117 US) and the once gaming champ, the Core i5-2500K which sold for around $230 US.

In gaming benchmarks on 1080p and 720p, the Pentium G4560 single-handedly beats out the Pentium G4400, FX-6300 and A10-7890K while being under 5% slower than the more expensive Core i3-6100 and Core i5-2500K. In general Windows applications and synthetic benchmarks, the difference between the Pentium G4560 and Core i3-6100 is just 3% while the i5-2500K is just 1% faster when average performance is calculated. In the Cinebench R15 benchmark, the Pentium G4560 is faster in multi-threaded performance while the Core i3-6100 ends up a bit faster during single-threaded evaluation.
Intel Pentium G4560 Multi-GPU and Multi-Tasking Performance:
The performance tests reveal that the Pentium G4560 is very much capable of handling graphics cards from both mainstream and enthusiast tiers such as the Fury X and GTX 980 Ti. The chip can also handle multiple GPUs well with GTX 980 Ti SLI performance in Witcher 3 matching the Core i5-7600K.

These include USB-C, micro HDMI, micro SDXC and, yes, standard USB ports and even a 3.5mm headphone jack. In the pre-2015 MacBook era, these features would be expected, but nowadays, they’re an anomaly given the minimalistic efforts of newer laptops. Don’t go in expecting the ZenBook Flip UX360 to be old-fashioned, however, because as the naming suggests, this is a notebook that prides itself on its ability to shapeshift 360 degrees.
